I like my mac, but I've noticed some strange things when I'm online. For example, Blogger doesn't show the text editing options (bold, italic, colors, etc). All I've got is a spell check button and a photo insert button. There's a preview link, but no "edit HTML" link.
Similarly, in Gmail, the "reply" button is only at the bottom of the message - using IE there was a reply button at the top of the message too...
Oh well, I'll have my PC back soon.

Glad you're enjoying the new place! Are you using Safari that came with the Mac? (definitely not my favorite) I'm using Firefox for Mac and I have all my little editing buttons. Gmail should be fine too . . . maybe need a browser update. Now on some other sites I'm screwed . . . like I can't pay certain bills online anymore without IE, grrrr . . . but we'll always have my husband's PC for that, because he's a gamer and can't get most of his gaming software on mac.
I'm still finding buggy stuff with the switch to mac, but other stuff is just way cool.
Dude, I want a MAC so bad for my photography and for the mulimedia potential it has.....I thought it came with the ability to use IE and other Microsoft Stuff?
Safari (the browser that came with your Mac) is definitely my favorite browser but as you've noticed some sites don't work 100% with it. These are not Mac bugs...they're bugs in the sites' support for Safari which is a standards compliant browser. But, for those particular sites you can try Firefox or Camino. Camino uses the same engine as Firefox but is more "mac-like" whereas Firefox allows you to use all the standard Firefox plugins. You could also use Parallels or VMWare Fusion and run IE in Windows.
Dan,
Rhet's comment is actually brilliant....or rather I had forgot that you could open up VMWare in the Mac to run a "virtual" Windows environment. Had we both stuck close to Dr. J, we could have easily acquired the VMWare sweet.....it was one of his main tools for the kid's projects;)
Thanks for the suggestions everyone - the Mac is a wonderful machine, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I'm not sure why certain websites don't work with Safari (and I'm hard pressed to blame the sites), but firefox works great!
