NaNoWriMo starts!

It's November, and National Novel Writing Month has begun!

At some point in November, I'm sure I'll blog about a different topic, but today I just want to say: Chapter 1, draft 1, is complete!

Chapter two, draft 1, begins at lunchtime...

Congrats!!! Ugh, you're way ahead of me already. 700 words just couldn't come fast enough this morning.

Happy writing!

Thanks! Good luck to you all as well! I'm writing it out longhand in a notebook, so I don't have a wordcount yet, but it's about 6 or 7 pages so far (I started writing chapter 2 over lunch).

I'm hoping to get a running start, 'cause I know once we hit Thanksgiving, I'll have WAY less time to write...

Have you written a novel before?

Looks like I've got multiple Kim's here - and like I always say, you can never have too many Kim's around. :)

Yes, I published a kid's novel last year (wrote it during NaNoWriMo 2005). This year, I'm writing the sequel, and I expect it to be a long-ish series, at the rate of one a year...

Did I tell you that I'm one of three Kims in my new lab? One of my coworkers thinks that it's really funny to walk in the room and say "Hey Kim" and see how many of us look up. :)
